Wine Grotto

Texas

A small, odd-shaped space at the top of stair landing was completely unused... until converted into a beautiful wine grotto. While this space is still open to the rest of a media room, it is set apart with the split-faced stone used on the walls and the tongue-and-groove wood ceiling treatment. A brand new, 36" wide wine chiller from U-Line provides plenty of storage for wines and spirits while an ice-maker is constantly ready for a party.

Custom cabinetry was designed to coordinate with the adjacent room's media center while a copper tile rug stretches across the focal wall.

One of the biggest high lights of this space is the granite countertop. Cosmos granite has a wide variety of striations and 'waves' speckled with natural garnets.

Slate and Plaid Master Bathroom

Texas
For a successful bachelor, it was time to update the master bathroom into a unique getaway. Being a geologist, natural stone was a must; but giving free reign over the tile design was a pleasant surprise!  By cutting a 12x12 tile in half, and inserting 1 row of 1x1 black glass tile, we cleverly created a plaid design on the shower walls.

Free hanging framed mirrors set on top of the glass tile while brushed nickel plumbing fixtures arch out of the wall.  A honed black countertop allows the glass tile to steel the show and is supported by a custom, furniture-like vanity. More custom cabinetry hides shows, watches, and other accessories.
