Feed Me!

When, Where, What to eat!

I love food! Scrumptious, salty, sweet, spicy, hot, cold- I love it all. In fact, I'm eating as I'm writing this!  One of my favorite things to do is discover something delicious to eat or drink; I'm constantly on the look out for new recipes, restaurants, or convincing a friend to cook for me.  This page of Decrospective is going to be a little journal of some of the best things I've eaten whether conjured up in my own kitchen (by me or not by me...) or created by chefs locally here in Texas or places I visit around the US and the world.

Hometown Heroes!

Tavern 109
"Great food and charming ambiance can only equal an extraordinary dining experience. Tavern 109 restaurant is located in a turn-of-the-century building in the heart of Williamston.

The 109 has been beautifully renovated to reflect Williamston's  history and community roots... This restaurant offers traditional dining as well as an old fashioned tavern-style bar with 12 craft brews on tap.  Come by and relax. Have an extraordinary meal and be a part of our story."

Tavern 109 is a relatively new restaurant in my hometown of Williamston, MI and I hope it sticks around for awhile.  With a nod to southern cuisine, this place has quickly become one of my favorites!  Housed in one of the old buildings in the 4-corners of Williamston, the place is oozing with charm.

Must Haves
*Pear Pizza - I don't know if I'll ever order anything but this pizza! It is THAT delicious!  roasted pears, walnuts, Gorgonzola, bacon, cracked black pepper, and olive oil
*Vegetarian Risotto - Ok - if they were out of the Pear Pizza, this is what I'd get. Not a bad second option!
*Brews - with so many different brews to choose from... who can pick one?  Try a flight and taste four different brews including some local legends.

Bowl

More than just a salad!

"With over 200 ingredients, toppings, and dressings to select from -many of them organic - we'll build you as tantalizing and fresh a salad as you dare dream up."

This little cafe has easily become one of my favorite spots to grab a quick delicious bite to eat or lounge and enjoy a fresh sangria. Although the 1/2 salad + 1/2 sandwich is a great option, I usually can't decide on just two menu items! My favorite way to enjoy Bowl is to bring a friend, order 3-5 things and share them all!

Must Haves
*El Capitan Sandwich - brie, prosciutto, red onion, and a drizzle of honey on French bread.
*Sangria - it's a family recipe that know one but the owner knows! It's fantastically fresh and just the right amount of sweet!
*Build our own salad - pick from several different greens, cheeses, dressings, and tons of ingredients to create the perfect salad.

Canopy

Find some shade!

Scrumptious! That is the category that Canopy falls under. Their constantly changing menu offers dishes that highlight local food and some of most savory dishes I've ever had. You can sit inside where the decor invites the outside in with its fun and funky decor or you can lounge on the patio outside.

Must Haves
Happy hour - and not just for the drinks! Although the drinks are definitely amazing, the snack foods available on the happy hour menu are some of my favorite comfort foods!  Try the mac and cheese with bacon or the fried calamari.
